About

Melbourne Designer with over a decade of experience in Melbourne and London. Throughout my career, I have been involved in, brand and identity, charity design work, finance, retail, construction, and media design publication. My most recent work is as a Freelance Designer for a few clients based in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Being employed with Argon and Portamix has expanded my knowledge in print and digital media, becoming more advanced at mocking up packaging with the use of Adobe Dimension. Another proud milestone in my career was reached by breaking into the UK media industry and being responsible forgiving Tempus luxury lifestyle magazine a brand refreshment. This was achieved by working from scratch, conducting a large amount of research from similar magazines, selecting fonts to be used, and layout features for each unique section in the magazine.

Working at Travelex in their London Head Office exposed me to various departments including marketing, data, retail, training, and HR. Recently, I have been expanding my knowledge in Blender 3D open-source program and learning about the endless possibilities the program and tools can bring to any design work. An example of 3D work using Blender is demonstrated in my portfolio work titled London Pub but stay tuned as I will be producing more 3D pieces of work later this year.

What inspires me? Creative works from Automobilist website as I have a passion for cars and motorsport, with highly detailed 3D models of some of my favourite sport cars. This site has inspired me to continue improving my 3D design ability along with learning more, about 3D design using CG Cookie educational platform. Another thing that motivates me is some of the latest design work on dribbble and behance with access to a broad range of different disciplines in design.

Personal Values

Be Honest

Be true to yourself and your client’s expectations of what is being delivered in work. Admit if a mistake has been made, correct it, and most importantly identify how to prevent it from occurring in future.

Communication Is Key

Keep everyone in the loop involved in the design process. Communication is key to a project running smoothly and removing the chance of misinterpretation of a design brief detail.

Stay Motivated to Learn

There is always room for self-improvement or an area of design that can help enhance your work.

Be Analytical

Ask yourself the question occasionally have I been living up to the values and standards of my own expectations? What could be changed or improved to be a better designer?

Simplicity

Don’t overcomplicate. View work from different perspectives not just from a designer’s view but also customer’s and client’s.
